   Proposal Description:
   Frailty is a geriatric syndrome affecting 7 of aging adults that produces a decline across multiple systems resulting in a loss of reserve in response to     stressors. An emerging hypothesis now suggests that frailty may be an             independent risk factor for the development of incident mild cognitive            impairment and progression of Alzheimer???s disease (AD). The frailty syndrome    is composed of several measurements (shrinkage, exhaustion, physical activity,    weakness and slowness) which together make up the phenotype but the individual    impact of each measurement on the risk of developing cognitive impairment or AD   over time is unknown. The project aims to assess the association between          components of the frailty syndrome, such as shrinkage, at baseline and during     follow-up and likelihood of developing MCI and AD
